indiana (minus the "-na")

Whelp. I went to India. It was... Unbelievable. I mean seriously. I can hardly believe that I was there or that I'm already back. Everything happened so fast and each day was so crammed full that it's hard to synthesize everything that I saw. It was also weird because since I'm back right at the beginning of the semester, everyone is busy starting back up and no one is super interested in knowing how it was. I can't really blame them (and I'm not sure I'd know how to summarize the trip if the did ask) but it's just a different feeling.

Everything went well overall. I didn't get sick (which was what I was most worried about before I left) and everyone got along well. ***** The whole group bonded (for the most part). I got to see some pretty incredible things--like the Taj Mahal and poverty all on the same day. It all happened so quickly, though, that I'm afraid I didn't absorb it all.

Today was the first day of my last semester as an undergrad. I feel so lucky and so blessed to have a job lined up for next fall. I think a lot of people are going through crisis mode, which is understandable. It's nice to know that the stress paid off. It's also a bonus that I'm getting excited to start that part of my life. If I weren't excited I think I would be pretty upset about this being my last semester.

I think it will be very odd to be in a single this semester. I was so busy with classes and interviewing last semester that I hardly noticed that I didn't have roommates. More than that, I think I was extremely glad I didn't have roommates to have to make time for (that sounds waaay more terrible than I mean it to sound). It's just nice to not be accountable to anyone when you're busy. But now... I don't know. I think I'll be finding new hobbies.

I finally am almost done with my apartment decorations. There were a few things at the beginning of the semester that I never put up (pictures, etc) and I brought home more stuff from India. I think I just have a few pillows to stuff and some straightening to do. Of course it'll never be done, though. There's always something to decorate or redecorate... :)

This is a rural village outside of Chennai, India where we did observations.
